Democratic Independent Councillor Paul Johnston has expressed ‘No Surprise’ at the news of the decision by 2 Labour Councillors to prop up the Tory Alliance Administration of Aberdeenshire Council.
The move today(8th January 2013) by Labour to Join the administration is according to the Councillor “Expected, given the Labour record of almost complete acceptance of the Tory Alliance Administration’s line in the Council” according to Cllr Paul Johnston.
“In the run up to the election Labour stood on a platform of change in Aberdeenshire – and have done precisely the opposite and have supported the Tory Alliance with their right wing Independent travellers. They voted for no change, no reform and against issues such as Fairtrade and restoring education cuts as promised. This represents the culmination of their deal.”
“They should be rather embarrassed with themselves… after all who would be believe them now. It’s rather sad to see what power does to principles”
