Paul Johnston who is a regular supporter of the Garden project was at this weekends plant sale (Saturday 25/5/2013) where a good number of people came to the projects polytunnel and gardens.
“The sun shone on the Gardens this time and sales of some excellent plants seemed brisk. What will be good is the extra help the Community Justice and rehabilitation people will bring to develop the land area and increase the viability and long term sustainability of the Gardens” said Paul.
The Gardens have been underused in the last year when social services clients were unable to use the gardens due to cost reductions in their transport and their withdrawal from attending.
“The Gardens are used by young people and a dedicated group of enthusiasts locally. The use of offenders is a good way of assisting the continuity of the project. ” said the Methlick and Mid Formartine Councillor.
The plant sale raised more than £440 pounds for the garden.
