Methlick Playpark success – second in three part effort for Village centre.

2013-08-August 31st 010Methlick and Mid Formartine Councillor Paul Johnston welcomed the opening of Methlick Playpark as the second in a three step project to develop the facilities at Methlick.

“This playpark project has been a huge success being driven by James Hall.  The Work by Park trustees such as Jay Allen have brought the first part of pitch leveling and drainage.  It has been a great co-operative effort and thanks to all the funding Partners for its completion.”

” I think it is important to mention the beginning of this was from the developer contribution of Davie Smith of Skelmonae Wind Farm.  Mr Smith was keen to offer the Methlick area a benefit from his wind Turbine proposal.  He has kept that up and this has generated activity and matched funding from the EU Funds, The Council and others, that has led to this fantastic achievement.”

Cllr Johnston helped the initial meetings and has supported the proposals all through the process.

Paul will be at the opening from 1pm Sunday 15th September.
