An Aberdeenshire councillor is seeking an apology and correction from the Post Office following the publication of the Post Office consultation about changes to the Post Office provision at Tarves which failed to spell the village name correctly.
“People’s confidence in the ability of the Post Office is sadly diminished when they learn that they cannot even spell the village name correctly.” said Paul Johnston, a Tarves resident and local Democratic Independent Councillor.
“They need to check their spelling before embarking on important local consultations”
“A search on the Post Office web site under the village name indicates it does not exist – but a misspelled name is there to be found. They should correct this mistake as soon as possible and consider extending the consultation period by the time it takes to change the information. ” said Paul
