The trees on the busy ‘C’ class road from Tarves towards Hattoncrook to Dyce, has a large number of dead and dying trees along the roadside that residents worry are a danger in high winds.
“The roadside trees have remained unmanaged for many years and it shows. In high winds there are many branches strewn on the road. Worryingly, there are now trees that appear dying. The concern is for falling trees and even more serious danger.” said Councillor Johnston.
Cllr Johnston has written to Council roads official asking for the trees to be examined and landowners to be identified and contacted so that work can be done to prevent injury or serious accident.
“The Council should ask their tree specialists to identify unsafe trees and this will allow a proper assessment of the problem and assurance the public that if the trees are not safe then landowners will be informed and the trees pruned or removed.” said the Councillor.
