Tarves bus users can look forward to one minor improvement with a new service starting at 7.33 AM to Aberdeen. This service previously started at Pitmedden at 7:40. The service is operated by local firm, Watermill coaches.
However, there is disappointment that there remains a large mid evening service gap for residents in Methlick returning from Aberdeen.
Councilor Paul Johnston has written to Steve Walker, the managing director of Stagecoach seeking a minor change which would allow for the 18:20 service from Aberdeen to extend its journey to Methlick rather than terminate at Tarves.
“This small 18 minute service extension would make it easier for people returning from work in Aberdeen. There would be little knock on effect on the return service but it would allow people to catch a later bus home rather than endure a very long wait until the last bus which is as late a 10:40pm some days.”
