A short Government leaflet outlining the obligations for businesses delivering to remote rural communities has been welcomed by Aberdeenshire Councillor Paul Johnston.
Designed to help businesses selling their products online it outlines the regulations when it comes to delivery charges and restrictions. As well as highlighting the legal obligations it gives some practical suggestions on how businesses can take steps to ensure they comply with the law.
“There are a growing number of businesses based in our location who want to sell to homes and businesses in Scotland – and many based in rural commuter areas like much of Formartine.” said Paul. “This will help give guidance to these businesses, many of whom are micro businesses and startups, to take advantage of the massive direct delivery revolution brought about by the internet. It may be short and sweet, but its good advice”
Although primarily targeted at business, consumers living in rural areas will be interested to see their rights in respect of rural deliveries laid out so clearly.
