William (Bill) Reid of Belhelvie, – a tribute.

I was very disappointed not to be able to pay my and the community’s due respects to Bill Reid who died Sunday August 13th. His funeral was yesterday (August 23rd 2017) in the Parish Kirk at Belhelvie.

Bill was a real gentleman by any interpretation.  He had a sense of civic duty to the community he lived in and was an incredibly long serving member of the Belhelvie Community Council.  Bill gave of his time and much wisdom to the betterment of Potterton, Belhelvie, Balmedie and Whitecairns over so many years.

I regret, that due to having to conduct job interviews, I was unable to be there.  I cannot let his passing go unmarked though.  I thought expressing my public thanks and the thanks of so many people past and present locally for Bill Reid, publicly was the least I could do personally.

The world is a better place for having had the likes of Bill Reid amongst us.
